Byron Donalds argues with 'Breakfast Club' hosts over Harris' economic record: 'Are you sure you want to go there?'

MP Byron DonaldsR-Florida, accused Vice President Kamala Harris of ruining the economy during a heated exchange on “The Breakfast Club” in which he sparred with hosts over their role in addressing the current inflation plaguing the US

A discussion on Tuesday's episode of the show devolved into a heated exchange between the lawmaker and the moderators after he blamed Harris for the Biden administration's failed economic policies.

“I would say that we are not doing really well at the moment. This inflation, which by the way was brought to us by Kamala Harris, has really prevented people from excelling,” Donalds said.

Vice President Harris's tie-breaking votes in the Senate were key to Biden's inflationary policies: expert

“From Kamala?” host Charlamagne Tha God replied. “She is vice president. There is still a president.”

“Oh Charlamagne,” Byron said, reminding listeners that Harris cast the tie-breaking vote on the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act in 2021.

“She broke the bond that created this inflation that has hurt so many people in our country,” Donalds said.

Guest presenter Angela Rye dismissed Byron's argument as “not true”.

“Are you sure you want to go there?” the Florida Republican shot back, pulling out a pamphlet of “facts” from his suit jacket to support his claim as Rye tried to talk over him.

Donalds argued that experts expect “massive inflation” if the American Rescue Plan passes.

“That’s what happened,” he said.

“The problem we have in our economy today is that prices have risen massively, wages adjusted for inflation have fallen and people's wallets are suffering,” he continued.

Donalds asked co-host DJ Envy if he would hire someone who broke a house to fix more houses.

As Rye wondered how his question related to the current topic, Donalds shot back, “Calm down, Angela.”

“She ruined the economy,” he said of Harris.

“I won’t do that this morning,” Rye replied.

“Because I bring facts… so now you don’t want to do it anymore? Come on, Angela, that's not right. I want to have a fact-based conversation,” Donalds said.

Donalds later on Tuesday posted a clip from the stock market on “has ruined our economy.”

The Harris campaign did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Biden has in the past called claims that the American Rescue Plan's significant spending may have been a cause of skyrocketing inflation “bizarre” and has dismissed the accusation.

“You could argue whether it had a marginal, small impact on inflation,” he said in 2022. “I don’t think it did, and most economists don’t think it did.”

Former President Trump has repeatedly blamed the “massive inflation” on the “Biden-Harris administration.”
