ERLICH leaves SPOTIFY for TBA VENTURE: HITS Daily DoubleSpotify Global Head of Music Jeremy Erlich will leave the company, sources at DSP confirm. He will remain at Spot in an advisory capacity until the end of February and then depart to launch an entrepreneurial venture to be announced.

During his five-plus years at Spotify – with and without various mustaches and beards – the wildly popular executive has earned industry recognition for building strong teams, solidifying operations and vastly improving relationships with the global economy. We might add that Spotify has more than doubled in size over his tenure.

Jeremy’s direct reports – Global Head of Editorial Sulinna OngGlobal Head of Music Partnerships & Audience Joe Hadley and Global Head of Music Go-to-Market Madeleine Bennett– will report to VP Music & Audiobook Business David Kaefer.

The following message was sent as the final entry in Jeremy's regular “What's on my mind” email series to employees. We'll miss being able to pester him with our questions about streaming stats, but we wish him the best of luck in his next chapter.

Hello everyone,

This version of “What's on my mind” will be different from all others as it will be my last in the role.

Over the last few months I have been reflecting on what we have achieved as a team and as a company and what challenges lie ahead. Based on these reflections, I have decided that it is time for me to turn the page on this chapter after 5.5 incredible years.

As I thought about the future, I became more and more excited to begin my own entrepreneurial journey. It's been a goal of mine for a long time and now seems like the right time to pursue it. This was a very difficult decision, but as I have said many times, you are the best team in the industry and I know you will be in good hands going forward.

What now?

You'll be seeing me for a while as I take on an advisory role to help David and the team plan the way forward. Although change can feel difficult, I am confident that this will only result in great things for the team and I will be here to help you all navigate this situation.

Leading them all has been the privilege of my career. Thank you for the incredible memories. I am so grateful to each and every one of you. See you soon in the All-Hands.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Jeremy
