F1 News: Details emerge as Michael Schumacher is 'seen in public' for the first time since his tragic accident

Ailing F1 legend Michael Schumacher He reportedly recently attended his daughter's wedding, which was supposed to be his first public appearance since his devastating accident 11 years ago. Schumacher suffered catastrophic head injuries in a skiing accident in 2013 and has not been seen in public since.

Be Ms. Corinna is notoriously private in terms of sharing information about his condition, and there is an extremely small inner circle of people who are allowed to see him. But it looks like Corinna is starting to loosen the wall of privacy a bit, as reports are emerging that Schumacher was seen at his daughter Gina-Marie's wedding.

Gina-Marie married Iain Bethke in the family's luxury villa in Mallorca, which the family bought from Real Madrid CEO Florentino Perez in 2017. Schumacher lives in his family's home on Lake Geneva in Switzerland, but is often transported back and forth to his Mallorca villa.

At Gina-Marie's wedding, privacy was said to be extremely strict; cell phones had to be left at the front door. But multiple media outlets are reporting that Schumacher was present – the first time anyone outside the “inner circle” has seen him in 11 years.

Last year, Schumacher's brother Ralf announced that he was no longer allowed access to Michael. However, this attitude has since changed and he was present at the wedding. “When I see his children Gina-Maria and Mick, my heart smiles,” Ralf told the magazine “Bunte”. “If anyone in the family is looking for my advice, I’m there.” They go their own way.”

But another sign that the walls of secrecy are beginning to fall has been reported The girlfriend of Schumacher's son Mick has been granted access to the inner circle. Danish model Laila Hasanovic has been dating Mick since last August and was apparently found worthy by Corinna.

At the end of last year, Schumacher's former Ferrari boss and close friend Jean Todt revealed: “He's just not the Michael he once was. He is different and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children who protect him. His life is different now,” and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That's all there is to say.

When Corrina spoke publicly about the accident for the first time in a Netflix documentary in 2021, she revealed why she wanted to keep Schumacher's condition so private. “'Private is private,' as he always said. It is very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible,” said Corinna.

“Michael has always protected us and now we protect Michael. What he really didn't like was the press, the people, all the hype around him. That's not what he wanted. He wanted to do the sport. Michael is very suspicious. He always was, in the early days. Until he believes he knows someone or can trust someone, he opens up completely.”

Schumacher's former manager Willi Weber has previously criticized the level of secrecy that led to him being excluded. “I tried to contact Corinna hundreds of times but she didn’t respond,” he said. “I called (former Ferrari boss) Jean Todt to ask him if I should go to hospital and he told me to wait – it was too early.”

“I called the next day and no one answered. I didn't expect such behavior and I'm still angry about it. They kept me out and told me it was too early, now it's too late. It's been nine years. Maybe they should just tell it like it is.

“I was initially able to understand the situation as I have always done everything I could to ensure Michael protected his private life. But since then we have only heard lies from them. He was like a son to me. It still hurts me to talk about it today.
