Is Noah Fant playing on Monday night? Seahawks tight end injury update

As Seattle tries to overcome a 21-7 halftime deficit and remain undefeated this season, one of its offensive weapons remained silent during the first week of the team's fifth campaign.

In the Seahawks' game against the Lions on Monday night, TE Noah Fant's name wasn't mentioned much because he wasn't involved in his team's offensive plan.

Fant also initially appeared to be struggling with an injury on the sidelines, which further questioned his status against Detroit.

Here's what you should know about Fant's performance so far in Week 5 against the Lions and injury updates at tight end.

Will Noah Fant play against the Lions in Week 4?

Fant played in Week 5 against the Lions. However, he failed to record a reception from QB Geno Smith in the first half before suffering a possible injury.

Smith completed 17 passes in the first two quarters against Detroit, but those completions were split between DK Metcalf, Zach Charbonnet, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tyler Lockett, Jake Bobo, Kenneth Walker III and Pharoah Brown.

In his first three games of the season, Fant totaled nine balls for 85 yards. He has yet to find the end zone in 2024.

However, after his quiet first half, Fant returned to the field in the third quarter and made a 16-yard catch to get on the board.

During the second quarter of the Seahawks vs. Lions game, Fant was seen seeking medical attention on the sidelines. Fant appeared to have an arm or shoulder injury, but there was no further information on his injury status before halftime.

To put any concerns to rest for now, Fant was back on the field in the second half and made a 16-yard catch on a Seahawks scoring drive.

Fant's injury status will be monitored going forward, but he appears to be healthy enough to remain in action against the Lions.
