The WNBA semifinals are approaching their respective Game 2.

The four remaining teams, the New York Liberty, the Las Vegas Aces, the Minnesota Lynx and the Connecticut Sun, will tip off on Tuesday evening, two days after they play their opening games. The WNBA playoffs have been smooth so far. However, on Sunday night, the Sun became the first lower-seed team to win a game in the 2024 playoffs when they defeated the Lynx on the road in Minnesota.

In Sunday's earlier game, a rematch of the 2023 WNBA Finals, the Liberty defeated the Aces.

Here's what you need to know for Tuesday's playoff action:

No. 1 New York Liberty vs. No. 4 Las Vegas Aces

  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
  • TV, streaming: ESPN2
  • Location: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York
  • Series status: 1-0 freedom

What happened in the previous game? Behind Breanna Stewart's 34 points and Sabrina Ionescu's 21 points, Liberty-controlled 2024 WNBA Most Valuable Player A'ja Wilson (21 points) took the series lead with a 10-point win. Aces guard Kelsey Plum led Las Vegas with 24 points, but New York's businesslike demeanor set the tone.

What is at stake? This is the second game of the best-of-five semifinal series. New York will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead before the series moves to Las Vegas, while the Aces will look to grab a lead in Brooklyn to reverse home-field advantage.

No. 2 Minnesota Lynx vs. No. 3 Connecticut Sun

  • Time: 9:30 p.m. ET
  • TV, streaming: ESPN2
  • Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Series status: 1:0 So

What happened in the previous game? Suns forward Alyssa Thomas was one assist shy of a triple-double, and Connecticut withstood the Lynx's late attacks to win the first road game 73-70. Thomas scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds and nine assists, while Sun guard Marina Mabrey made six 3s – some from long range – and led all scorers with 20 points.

What is at stake? This is the second game of the best-of-five semifinal series. The Lynx already lost their home-field advantage when they lost to the Sun on Sunday, and Minnesota probably can't afford to play Connecticut in a two-game gap. Meanwhile, The Sun are in a good position and will look to take the lead.
