Memories of early voting in Ohio before the election

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WJW) – Early voting begins next week in Ohio.

On Tuesday, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose issued reminders to voters.

“With one week until early voting begins, I can confidently say that we are prepared for voters to go to their early voting centers and receive their requested mail-in ballots,” he said in a news release. “Protracted preparation is key to conducting any successful election, and Ohioans can have confidence that their vote will be secure no matter which of Ohio’s three convenient voting methods they choose.”

For voters who have requested absentee ballots, local election boards will begin sending them by mail beginning Oct. 8.

The minimum wage in Ohio is set to increase

Postal ballots must be postmarked by November 4th and received by the respective electoral board no later than four days after election day.

People voting in person will need an approved photo ID at their polling place.

The following is accepted.

  • Ohio driver's license

  • Ohio State ID Card

  • Temporary ID form issued by the Ohio BMV

  • US passport

  • US passport card

  • US military ID including Ohio National Guard

  • US Department of Veterans Affairs ID card

On Election Day, November 5th, polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
