Rob Marciano, the meteorologist who was fired from ABC News earlier this year amid reports of inappropriate behavior, has found a new home at CBS News.

According to Oliver Darcy's Status newsletter, the 55-year-old has been hired to join the network's growing weather team.

Marciano's departure from ABC came after several complaints from network employees about his behavior, including a heated argument with a Good Morning America producer.

His firing followed an alleged pattern of incidents, including one in 2022, that led to him being temporarily removed from the morning show's studio.

According to Page Six, Marciano was reportedly “banned” from the morning show's studio after making a colleague uncomfortable. Sources cited anger management issues he faced during the divorce and described “a series of alarming events.”

Following his exit from ABC, The Daily Beast revealed that Marciano had been taken off the air for at least a month in 2022 and was undergoing anger management for allegedly making inappropriate comments to a female producer.

Despite the controversy surrounding his exit from ABC, Marciano managed to secure a position at CBS News. His connection to Wendy Fisher, a former ABC News executive who now runs CBS News' weather division, may have played a role in his hiring.

It remains unclear when Marciano will return to air on CBS. The channel has not yet released any official details about his role or broadcast schedule.

Back in May, it was announced that 55-year-old Marciano had been fired two years after he was pulled from the air due to “anger issues.”

Marciano joined Good Morning America in 2014, taking over the weekend role of Ginger Zee after she was promoted to the daily show to replace chief meteorologist Sam Champion.

However, according to an anonymous media executive who spoke to the New York Post, their relationship was said to have been difficult for years.

While the source noted that Marciano's “hot temper” caused problems on set, she also mentioned that Zee could be “vicious” at times.

“I think she brought out the worst in him. “I’m not giving him a pass,” the source noted. “It's sad because they're both really interested in the science of weather, but unfortunately their personalities didn't mesh.”

The manager described the 43-year-old as a “know-it-all” who often acted as an “alpha” and treated Marciano more like a “beta”. “They were more equal in experience than Ginger and Sam,” they added.

Zee, who joined Good Morning America in 2011, was reportedly given priority over duties when Marciano joined the network, coinciding with the launch of a 24/7 weather unit for ABC News, GMA and World News Tonight.

“If you disagree with her, she points to her Twitter followers and says, ‘You’re wrong; “My followers on Twitter loved it,” said the media manager.

The source noted that when Marciano was unhappy about something, it was obvious to others. “He lost his temper in meetings when he received news he didn’t like,” they said.

Another source close to 43-year-old Zee claimed that Marciano had “behavioral issues.” “Ginger is a collaborative, inclusive and hard-working leader who is highly respected by her colleagues and has never complained about her work style,” they said, adding that any other suggestions would be “sexist.”
