National voting intent for the US presidential election (September 25-26, 2024)

The latest voting intention poll for the US presidential election from Redfield & Wilton strategies Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump by 3% nationallya point higher than in our last national poll on voting intentions in the US, released two weeks ago.

After weighting based on the probability of voting stated by the respondents themselves, 47% (+3) of Americans say they will vote for Kamala Harris, while 44% (+2) say they will vote for Donald Trump. Another 5% (-3) say they are not yet sure how they will vote.

5% (-) of Trump 2020 voters now say they will vote for Harris, and 9% (+3) of Biden 2020 voters now say they will vote for Trump. Donald Trump retains the support of 89% (+1) of those who voted for him in 2020, while 86% (+4) of those who voted for Joe Biden in the last presidential election say they will vote for Kamala Harris .

The economy (60%), abortion (37%), and immigration (34%) are the top three responses when American voters are asked to identify the issues most likely to determine how they will vote in the presidential election.

The economy is the top-chosen issue for both Donald Trump (72%) and Kamala Harris (56%) likely voters. Other important issues for likely Trump voters include: immigration (57%), Healthcare (23%), and abortion (23%), while 55% of likely Harris voters are voting abortionSelect 40% Healthcareand 23% vote Housing.

When asked who between Harris and Trump is more likely to win the presidential election, he replied: 45% (-3) of respondents say they think Kamala Harris is more likely to winas opposed to 36% (-) who believe Donald Trump is more likely to win. 11% (+3) believe the race will be a back-and-forth race.

43% of Americans approve of President Joe Biden's overall performance as president (+2) and 41% disapprove (-3). This gave him his first net positive approval rating in our poll since then October 2021.

His net approval rating (+2%) is five points higher than in our last national poll two weeks ago.

Vice President Kamala Harris's net approval rating is +7% (-1).. In our last poll, 45% approved (-) and 38% disapproved (+1) of Kamala Harris' performance as vice president.
